AEQLO — Privacy

Last updated: September 6, 2026

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how AEQLO collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our store, make a purchase, contact us, subscribe to communications or otherwise interact with our services.

01

Who We Are & About This Policy

AEQLO is a registered trade name of a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) established in the Netherlands, also trading as Ramu Commerce, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 87733854 and holding VAT number NL004464884B16. Our registered address is Waagdragerhof 136, 1019 HB Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), this business is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

Our store is powered by Shopify, which provides the e-commerce infrastructure that enables us to offer our products and services to you.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose and otherwise process personal information when you visit or use our website, place an order, create or use an account, communicate with us, subscribe to marketing or otherwise interact with AEQLO.

02

Personal Information We Collect

"Personal information" means information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you. Depending on how you interact with AEQLO, we may collect or process:

  • Contact information, such as your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and shipping address.
  • Order and transaction information, including products viewed, added to cart or purchased, order history, returns, refunds, cancellations and delivery information.
  • Payment information processed by our payment providers, including payment method, transaction status and related payment details. Complete card information is handled directly by the relevant payment provider and is not stored by AEQLO.
  • Account information, where account functionality is used, including account identifiers, preferences and settings.
  • Communications, including information you provide when contacting customer care, making a return request or otherwise communicating with us.
  • Device and technical information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, network connection and similar identifiers.
  • Usage information, including how you interact with, browse or navigate our website and services, subject to applicable cookie and consent requirements.

03

Sources of Personal Information

We may collect personal information:

  • Directly from you, such as when you place an order, contact us, subscribe to communications or provide information through the website;
  • Automatically through the Services, including through cookies and similar technologies where permitted;
  • From Shopify and service providers that support our store, payments, fulfilment, shipping, fraud prevention, communications or technical operations; and
  • From partners or other third parties where permitted by applicable law.

04

How & Why We Use Personal Information

We process personal information only where we have an appropriate legal basis. Depending on the activity, this may include performing our contract with you, complying with a legal obligation, pursuing a legitimate interest or obtaining your consent.

  • Providing our services. To process payments and orders, fulfil purchases, arrange shipping, provide order notifications, process returns and refunds, maintain accounts and provide customer support.
  • Operating and improving AEQLO. To maintain the website, understand how our services are used, troubleshoot problems and improve the shopping experience.
  • Security and fraud prevention. To authenticate transactions, detect or investigate suspected fraud, abuse or malicious activity, and protect our customers, services and business.
  • Communicating with you. To respond to questions, provide customer care and send necessary transactional or service messages.
  • Marketing. To send promotional communications or support marketing activities where we have an appropriate legal basis and, where required, your consent.
  • Legal and regulatory purposes. To comply with applicable law, accounting and tax requirements, respond to valid legal requests, resolve disputes and enforce our terms and policies.

05

Legal Bases Under the GDPR

Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis will depend on the specific processing activity. Common bases include:

  • Contract — where processing is necessary to process and fulfil your order or provide a service you requested;
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or process information to comply with applicable law;
  • Legitimate interests — for appropriate business purposes such as fraud prevention, security, customer service and improving our services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; and
  • Consent — where applicable law requires us to obtain your permission, including for certain marketing or non-essential tracking activities.

06

Marketing & Communications

If you subscribe to AEQLO marketing, we may use your contact information to send product launches, offers, brand updates and other promotional communications in accordance with applicable law.

You can unsubscribe from promotional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe option included in the message or by contacting us. Where processing is based on consent, withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send non-promotional messages that are necessary for your order, account, return, refund or customer-care request.

07

Cookies, Analytics & Advertising

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies for essential website functions, security, remembering preferences, measuring performance and, where enabled, analytics or advertising.

Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies or tracking technologies, we will seek that consent before using them. You can manage available choices through the cookie or privacy controls presented on our website.

Your choice matters. Where consent is required, declining non-essential cookies should not prevent you from using the core shopping functions of our website.

08

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary for legitimate business purposes and subject to applicable law, including:

  • With Shopify and vendors that provide services such as payment processing, IT, hosting, fraud prevention, customer support, fulfilment, shipping, communications or analytics;
  • With carriers, fulfilment providers and other parties where necessary to deliver products or process returns;
  • With marketing or advertising partners where such services are used and the disclosure is permitted by law;
  • When you direct us, request the disclosure or otherwise consent to it;
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets or similar business transaction; and
  • Where required or permitted by law, including to respond to valid legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or enforce our terms.

09

Relationship With Shopify

Our store is hosted by Shopify. Information you provide through the store may be transmitted to and processed by Shopify in order to provide the platform, checkout, security and other commerce services used by AEQLO.

For some processing, Shopify acts as a service provider or processor on behalf of merchants. For certain Shopify consumer services or enhanced features, Shopify may process personal information for purposes determined by Shopify and may be independently responsible for that processing.

You can review Shopify's own consumer privacy information and privacy controls through Shopify's official privacy resources.

10

Fulfilment, Shipping & International Transfers

To fulfil and deliver orders, we may provide relevant personal information, such as your name, delivery address, contact information and order details, to fulfilment providers, logistics partners and carriers.

AEQLO uses international fulfilment arrangements, and orders are dispatched from our fulfilment facility in China. Returns are processed through the same facility. As a result, information necessary to fulfil your order or process your return will be processed outside the European Economic Area.

Where personal information is transferred from the EEA to a country that is not recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection, we seek to use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism where required, such as applicable Standard Contractual Clauses or another legally recognised safeguard.

11

Third-Party Websites & Services

Our website may contain links to websites, platforms or services operated by third parties. Their privacy and security practices are governed by their own policies, not this Privacy Policy.

We encourage you to review the privacy information of any third-party service you choose to use. The presence of a link does not by itself mean that AEQLO controls or is responsible for the third party's processing activities.

12

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access.

No system, transmission method or storage technology can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Please avoid sending highly sensitive information through unsecured communication channels.

13

Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and to satisfy applicable legal, accounting, tax, contractual and dispute-resolution requirements.

Order and transaction records are retained for at least seven years, in line with Dutch tax and accounting obligations. Marketing contact details are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.

Other retention periods vary depending on the type of information, why we process it, whether an account or transaction remains active and the legal obligations that apply. When information is no longer required, we aim to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it as appropriate.

14

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights in relation to your personal information. Under the GDPR, these may include:

  • Access — requesting information about and a copy of personal information we hold about you;
  • Correction — asking us to correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
  • Erasure — asking us to delete personal information where the legal conditions are met;
  • Restriction — asking us to restrict certain processing in applicable circumstances;
  • Objection — objecting to certain processing based on legitimate interests and objecting to direct marketing;
  • Data portability — receiving certain personal information in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format where the right applies; and
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdrawing consent at any time where we rely on consent.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to legal conditions or exceptions. We may need to verify your identity before processing a request.

To exercise a privacy right, contact us at info@aeqlo.com. We will respond within one month of receiving your request, as required by the GDPR. Where a request is complex, this period may be extended by up to two further months and we will inform you if that applies.

15

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children for the purpose of knowingly collecting their personal information. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to us in circumstances where this should not have occurred, please contact us so we can review the matter and take appropriate action.

16

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we process personal information, we encourage you to contact us first so we can review and address your concern.

Where applicable, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority. In the Netherlands, the supervisory authority is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

17

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, business practices, technology or legal and regulatory requirements. When appropriate, we will update the "Last updated" date and provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
